Downhill Skiing at its best

With one of the longest ski seasons anywhere (anywhere that isn’t a glacier that is), Norway is for anyone who just has to find snow.

Downhill skiing holidays to suit everyone

All our downhill skiing is based around the resort of Gaustablikk, one of the first places in Norway to get snow; it’s often open as early as October.

With a comprehensive network of lifts and runs it’s challenging enough for the most experienced skiers and forgiving enough for beginners - or for those who’ve been away from the slopes for a while.

Family Friendly

It’s that combination that makes it an ideal destination for families, where abilities and ages are very different – we know how miserable it can be waiting around when you just want to ski - and in Gaustablikk, that really is kept to the minimum.

6 Day Alpine Ski package

This pack is unique to Kelso Travels clients and includes all equipment, lift passes and 45 minutes ski tuition. Our pre-booked system means when you arrive on your first ski day, your equipment is ready for you, pre-set, so you avoid the frustrating wait to get onto the slopes.

Children and adult Tuition

Both included in the 6 Day Alpine Ski package they take the form of group tuition.
Children get all the help they need whether it's their first time on skis or learning the more complex stuff. The tuition is in a Troll Club that has its own area on the slopes in the safe custody of our experienced English speaking instructors.

Additional Tuition - one to one

This can be arranged for a small additional cost and can be timed to suit each individual. Talk to your Kelso Travel agent when booking or enquiring for costs and timings.

Ski the Norwegian way

And the other things you’ve heard about skiing in Norway are also true, fewer people, more reliable snow, shorter queues and truly stunning scenery. It may not have the hustle and bustle of a major Alpine resort – but then who wants hustle and bustle in the mountains?

All you ever need

The facilities are all you’d expect, with official schools for Alpine Ski, Cross Country Ski and Snowboarding all with English speaking tutors who’ll get you started or help you brush up your technique. There’s also a fully equipped ski centre for ski hire and all the essentials you forgot to pack – even evening skiing twice a week for the truly committed.

Gaustablikk is an exceptional place to discover what makes skiing in Norway so different and exactly why - when you’ve tried skiing here - you won’t really want to try anywhere else.
